Job Overview

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial operations with a strong emphasis on cost accounting . This position oversees core accounting functions, ensures compliance with GAAP, and provides detailed cost analysis to support decision-making in a manufacturing and bottling environment.

Key Responsibilities



  • Manage and oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.


  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules .


  • Prepare and process 1099s .


  • Record journal entries and support month-end reconciliations and closings.


  • Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations , resolving discrepancies as needed.


  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports .


  • Conduct cost analysis related to manufacturing processes, inventory management, and overhead expenses.


  • Partner with department leaders to collect cost data, forecast expenses, and establish cost targets.


  • Monitor and report on budget variances , recommending corrective actions when necessary.


  • Develop and maintain cost allocation methodologies to accurately assign costs to products, projects, or departments.


  • Maintain and update costing systems , recommending process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency.


  • Track and analyze inventory levels to ensure accurate valuation and reduce carrying costs.


  • Work with procurement to minimize inventory risk, reduce waste, and mitigate obsolescence.


  • Support audit activities by collaborating with internal and external auditors.


  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements .


  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).


  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience , with a background in A/R, A/P, and cost accounting .


  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role .


  • Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles .


  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills .


  • Prior experience in manufacturing or food/beverage industry preferred .
