Work Setting: In person, some remote opportunity, and/or flexible working hours, not a fully remote position.

Salary Range: $100,000+ plus comprehensive benefits package.

Years of Industry Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience.

Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain Active DoD Secret Clearance.

For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Software Engineer. This exciting position will have the chance to work on just about any aspect there is as it pertains to designing, building, and refining software for complex multi-system production environments—partnering with business leaders, developers, infrastructure architects, systems engineers, and production support to deliver accessible, intuitive, cross-browser/cross-platform web interfaces and reliable backend services.

What does this mean to you?

We are seeking expertise in Software Engineering for complex, multi-system environments such as:

• Ability to translate system-level requirements and architectures into software designs and capabilities.
• Experience designing and implementing data/database parsers, including mapping various data formats into a database and/or well-structured objects.
• Ability to interface with Systems Engineers to understand models, constraints, and workflows, and to translate those into robust software solutions.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting complex data integration issues, including data quality, schema mismatches, and synchronization errors between tools.
• Proficiency in Java for implementing backend services, integrations, and automation supporting system models and engineering workflows.
• Experience enhancing and refactoring existing applications to improve performance, maintainability, and usability while preserving required functionality.
• Familiarity with configuration management, version control, and basic DevOps practices to support reliable deployment and maintenance of integration tools.
• The ideal candidate will preferably have familiarity with MBSE tools and standards (e.g., SysML, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw) and experience developing applications that integrate databases and file-based data sources (e.g., Excel, JSON, CSV) and MBSE tools.

Let's talk salary. The annual salary range for this position is $100,000+ based on your qualifications. We also offer a competitive benefits package and have fringe benefits offered throughout the year. The benefits package value ranges from $13,000 for a single employee, and up to $28,000 for an employee and their family. Remote Work Policy

So, you want to work from home? Let's be honest, remote work is not always all it’s cut out to be. At G2 Ops, we offer a flexible schedule to meet the needs of our team members and customers. Due to the classification level of the projects we support as a Defense Contractor, we cannot offer fully remote opportunities at this time.

You will have a shiny desk at our G2 Ops office, plus the opportunity to work at a military site directly with our customers (this is a good thing!). We do allow teleworking with prior approval, but supporting the DoD, you will be required to work at a government site as well.

Lastly, as we are working for the DoD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DoD Secret level clearance.
