Job Summary

The RN – Risk Management will support patient safety and clinical risk management initiatives within an acute care hospital setting. This role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating clinical risks while promoting a culture of patient safety. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to investigate incidents, ensure compliance with safety standards, and implement strategies to improve quality of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Support risk management and patient safety programs within the healthcare facility.

• Investigate and analyze patient safety events, incidents, and near-miss reports.

• Assist in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve patient safety outcomes.

• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of safety events.

• Participate in safety audits, compliance monitoring, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Educate staff on risk management policies and patient safety best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Risk Management and/or Patient Safety within an acute care setting

• At least 1 year of this experience must be in a California hospital

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of California

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

• CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) or CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) Certification
