Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management within the organization. The Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting in strategic financial planning. This position plays a key role in driving the financial success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing recommendations to senior management for improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to financial reporting and taxation.
- Manage the preparation of tax filings and audits, collaborating with external auditors as needed.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in financial processes.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets.
- Prepare detailed reports and analyses for senior leadership, assisting in decision-making processes.
- Support the CFO in strategic planning, financial forecasting, and risk management.
- Oversee cash flow management and working capital to optimize financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial softwares.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively to senior management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Manufacturing.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position based in San Diego. The Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and work closely with other senior leaders within the organization
