Optometric Assistant or Receptionist
:
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an optician, technician, and/or receptionist. We are a growing optometric private practice in San Francisco. We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service, lab technical skills, and most importantly, a passion for learning. Experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Front desk:
Greeting patients, checking in patients, answering phone calls, taking down messages, appointment scheduling, sending appointment reminder and confirmations, patient check-in/check-out, billing routine vision insurance claims (VSP only) and inputting glasses and contact lens orders, updating patient information on EHR, notifying patients when an order is ready, and sending monthly patient recall.
- Optician:
Frame and lens selection with patient education, dispensing eyewear and contact lenses, measurements and adjustments, contact lens I&R training, inventory adjustment, check in jobs, and spectacle repair.
- Technician: Pre-testing with OCT, Fundus Photos, checking prescription on patients previous eyeglasses
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous optician/technician/receptionist experience a plus
- Experience with medical coding
- Customer service experience
- Some college education
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
