ABOUT LITTLE SAINT
Located in the heart of historic downtown Healdsburg, Little Saint is a vibrant meeting place where guests are invited to connect over food, music, art and conversation. Our mission is to create an environment that is good for the soul, the earth and the community. Inside our 10,000-square-foot space, Little Saint offers up a full-service farm-forward restaurant, cafe and wine shop with a focus on plant-based cuisine. The building is home to exciting live music and thought-provoking conversations, as well as a series of film screenings and performances to benefit local artists and our farming community.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Reporting to the General Manager, the Host will welcome guests, and provide accurate wait times and escort customers to the dining and bar areas. A successful host will have excellent organizational skills and a passion for hospitality to ensure each guest has a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere to greet guests.
- Be a Little Saint brand ambassador and engage with guests in conversation.
- Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions.
- Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas.
- Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
- Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
- Respond to complaints and helping to resolve them.
- Answer phone calls, take reservations and answer questions as needed.
- Have a detailed knowledge of the menu.
- Help out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
- Providing great customer service.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of related food, beverage and/or service management experience in a fine dining atmosphere.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
- Does high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Excellent financial acumen, math skills and computer proficiency.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours based on business
