After successfully opening our flagship Institute in New York in 2022 and expanding to South Florida in 2024, we are now bringing the Atria experience to the West Coast with the launch of our Los Angeles Institute in late spring 2026.
This is an extraordinary opportunity to join our founding LA team. You will be responsible for bringing rigor and thoroughness to the development of clinical operations in our largest clinic yet, as well as maintaining and supporting our strong and inclusive organizational culture and performance standards. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with clinical, finance, technology, care coordination, hospitality, content, events, and experience and to drive excellence.
About The Role
- Diagnostic Execution: Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, ensuring proper patient positioning, documentation, and completion of required clinical questionnaires.
- Protocol Implementation: Execute and enforce specialized ultrasound protocols (General, Vascular, OB/GYN, MSK) as defined by the Senior Technologist and Medical Directors.
- Quality Assurance: Perform daily "on-the-floor" quality checks of images to ensure they meet ACR and internal standards before they reach the Radiologist.
- Site Accreditation: Assist the Senior Technologist in gathering data and images for local ACR, DOH, and ARDMS accreditation renewals and inspections.
- On-Site Training: Serve as the primary instructor for staff sonographers, providing real-time feedback, conducting competency assessments, and identifying areas for technical improvement.
- Daily Workflow Management: Oversee patient flow to minimize wait times and ensure the schedule is optimized for both emergency and routine cases.
- Staff Supervision: Manage staff sonographers, including the preparation of schedules, approval of time sheets, and ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts (including call/holidays).
- Equipment Care: Monitor local equipment performance; perform routine calibrations, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate with vendors/Senior Tech for repairs.
- Inventory Control: Manage local medical supply levels and ensure the ultrasound suite remains stocked and sanitary.
- Physician Liaison: Act as the local point of contact for Radiologists regarding "wet readings" and urgent clinical findings.
- Patient Advocacy: Educate patients and families on procedures and provide age-specific care across all populations (neonate to geriatric).
- Systems Proficiency: Utilize Athena, RIS, and PACS for seamless documentation and image processing.
Compensation: $55-60/hr
Requirements
- Certification: Active ARDMS certification (required for ACR accreditation).
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Experience: 5+ years of clinical experience; prior experience in a "Charge" or "Lead" capacity is strongly preferred.
- Maintenance: Must meet all continuing education requirements to maintain active certification and status.
- Clinical Authority: Acts as a professional role model and technical expert for staff sonographers.
- Organizational Skills: High proficiency in planning schedules and managing local department resources.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for reporting to the Clinical Site Director and coordinating with the Senior Technologist.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to make sound judgments during high-stress situations or emergency department surges.
- Teamwork: A collaborative spirit focused on maintaining hospital behavioral standards and a positive work environment.
Schedule
- Must be okay with working 5x8s, paid in accordance to CA law
- Potential for weekend availability as we scale west coast region
