Behavior Technician
Who We Are
Whether you're brand new to ABA or finding your way back to it, you belong here. CABA was built by Dr. Rachel Taylor, a clinician who never stopped doing the work herself. She wanted to create the kind of place she'd want to work, built around one idea: take good care of your people, and they'll take beautiful care of the clients. At CABA we work with individuals across the lifespan with autism and other disabilities and conditions, including co-occurring needs, helping to increase independence and improve quality of life.
People come to this field for different reasons. What matters is what you choose to do once you’re here. CABA is built to help you see that reason through.
The way the Taylors treat their team isn't a policy. It's a promise, to their staff and to every person counting on them.
We work with older children, teens, and adults navigating autism, bipolar disorder, and complex co-occurring diagnoses. It’s not easy work. But it’s the kind you’ll still be proud of at the end of the day.
What Working Here Actually Feels Like
The client who said their first word. The teenager who finally had language to ask for what they needed. The moment someone got through something hard with skills you taught them.
That’s not a side effect of this job. That’s the job.
You won’t fly solo when things get tough. Through our BOSS® program, real clinical support is always within reach. Your caseload is built intentionally, not dumped on you. And when you’re ready to grow, we grow with you.
You’ll be heard here. You’ll be invested in. You’ll matter to this team and you’ll feel it.
What You’ll Do
Implement individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision
Collect and record data accurately and consistently
Support clients across clinic, home, and community settings
Collaborate with BCBAs, families, educators, and other providers
Where This Role Can Take You
A lot of people start here as a BT and stay because they want to. Others use this as the foundation for something bigger. Either way, we support you.
CABA has a clear path toward RBT certification, BCBA supervision hours, and senior clinical roles. There are also opportunities to grow into other positions within the organization, including Senior Behavior Technician and Community Behavior Technician roles. We’d rather build you up than watch you leave.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
6 months to 1 year of experience with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
RBT certification a plus. Don’t have it yet? We’ve got you
CPR and CPI certification required. We’ll help you get there if needed
Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must pass TB clearance and FBI/DOJ background check
Three professional and two personal references
Physical Requirements
This is active, hands-on work. You should be comfortable sitting on the floor, moving quickly, and providing physical support to clients when needed. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
What You’ll Receive
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00
Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
401(k), PTO, sick time, and paid holidays
Support obtaining RBT, CPR, and CPI certifications
Real-time clinical support through our BOSS® program
A clear path toward RBT certification, BCBA supervision hours, and senior roles
A leadership team that tells the truth and actually listens
A Note on Scheduling
This role is primarily in person. Some evenings and weekends are part of the reality, and we’d rather be upfront about that now.
If you want to do work that matters, in a place built specifically so that work can be done right, we’d love to meet you.
CABA is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to building and maintaining an inclusive workplace free from discrimination and harassment. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, medical condition, marital status, genetic information, veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected under federal, California, or local law. Applicants requiring reasonable accommodations during the application or interview process are encouraged to contact us. All requests will be handled confidentially.
