Job Summary

The TGCM Technician is responsible for maintaining and operating liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role performs advanced troubleshooting, equipment installation and start-up, system monitoring, preventive maintenance, emergency response activities, and hazardous waste support while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Job Description

  • Maintain and operate liquid bulk and specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment
  • Perform advanced gas/chemical troubleshooting and repair of delivery equipment
  • Perform daily rounds, including recording readings, completing safety inspections, monitoring online gas and chemical systems, verifying toxic gas monitoring operations, and completing chemical tote/drum and gas cylinder change-outs
  • Verify that daily rounds are recorded, determine corrective actions for abnormal parameters, and ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Monitor and understand the correct liquid bulk delivery procedures for each product on site
  • Perform bulk gas and chemical trailer transfers
  • Oversee the installation, facilitation, and start-up of all high-purity gas and/or chemical delivery equipment
  • Ensure that an accurate and complete gas and chemical inventory is maintained
  • Evaluate trends in monthly gas and chemical usage
  • Provide information for and initiate proper reporting procedures per on-site policies, including but not limited to Quality Incident Reports, product acceptance, tank fills, inventory and material usage, bulk gas analysis, analyzer calibration, monitoring, safety parameters, and personnel requirements
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of gas/chemical-related manufacturing problems
  • Act as an Emergency Response Team member/leader
  • Issue Hazardous Work Permits
  • Act as the primary customer shift interface
  • Restart all high-purity gas and/or chemical delivery equipment
  • Participate in customer and company programs, including but not limited to Safety, Training, Operations, and Preventive Maintenance
  • Support the training of TGCM contractors and TGCM Tech 5, 6, and 7 employees
  • Develop and maintain applicable site-specific work instructions
  • Comply with all applicable HS&E Standards, including but not limited to PPE, Forklift Operations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Confined Space Entry
  • Supervise on-site operations in the absence of the Manager
  • Generate site-specific reports and consolidate data as requested by Management
  • Complete assigned tasks per existing procedures
  • Perform minor analytical procedures and/or sampling procedures
  • Accountable for the safety of all personnel and the general public surrounding the facility
  • Ensure the proper transfer of materials to the dock hazardous waste storage area, including the use of appropriate maintenance, documentation, equipment, labeling, and procedures
  • Follow proper procedures for handling spills and emergencies, pour-up of materials, segregation of compatible materials, preparation of waste containers for shipment, and forklift operation
  • Support waste minimization programs and activities, and maintain an understanding of applicable hazardous waste laws

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in the semiconductor or chemical/specialty gas field, military technical/electronic rating, nuclear field, or an equivalent industry preferred
  • Knowledge of all proper reporting procedures per onsite operations policy, including product acceptance criteria, tank fills, inventory and material usage, monitoring, safety parameters, and personnel requirements
  • Strong mechanical and electromechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and supervise a group of technicians on a project
  • Demonstrated ability to train junior technicians
  • Ability to understand and adhere to stringent safety and quality standards
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work effectively in emergency or high-stress situations while performing problem-solving tasks safely and efficiently
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency or high-pressure situations
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check
  • Ability to wear a respirator as part of required PPE for certain job tasks
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift 40 lbs
    • Ability to stand/walk up to 11 hours per day
    • Ability to operate hydraulic foot pump (55-gallon drums - drums could be up to 500 lbs.)
    • Job requires constant bending to successfully complete shift tasks (validating information, checking systems, etc.)

Pay Rate/Salary

  • $37.00/hr. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location
