SALARY RANGE: $66,560 - $87,400

Job Summary:
As part of a statewide voter education and civic engagement initiative, the Civic and Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for implementing civic engagement plans and activities for SRCH patients and staff, in collaboration with community partners. The role also facilitates patient feedback, education, and engagement. The candidate must be bilingual Spanish, inspired by working as part of a small, close-knit team serving a big mission, motivated by learning, and happy delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
The grant-funded position reports to the Patient and Community Engagement Manager and works closely with the Senior Director of Communications and Development. The candidate also communicates with a variety of operational and clinical team members across the organization to ensure grant and program needs are met. Some evening/weekend hours and travel around the community is required and the position is eligible for some remote work.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the development and lead implementation of a staff and patient civic engagement plan.
- Coordinate and facilitate a cross-SRCH work and leadership engagement that will support implementation of staff and patient civic engagement education.
- Work with CPCA and Aliados civic engagement grant partners to develop - and with SRCH marketing team to distribute - civic engagement communication to SRCH patients and staff across multiple platforms (e.g. print, digital, text, patient portal, website, social media, staff newsletter, intranet).
- Support civic engagement campaign and related activities such as coalition building, staff buy-in, endorsement gathering, event planning, etc.
- Implement and monitor strategies to increase engagement on civic engagement and related topics via text, SRCH social media, events, and other campaigns.
- Provide marketing; and operational support for civic engagement and SRCH patient/community outreach events and special projects.
- Participate in regular communication with civic engagement grant partners (CPCA, Aliados, Petaluma Health Center, and CBO partner(s)) to identify action items, assign responsibility, and create feedback loops to adjust to new information.
- Support civic engagement grant and related activities reporting and budget monitoring and contribute to plans for continuous improvement.
- Ensure SRCH's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is operationalized in our civic engagement and related plans, and all communication is culturally and linguistically responsive, inclusive, and designed to engage diverse audiences.
- Promote and protect the mission, vision, values, and brand of Santa Rosa Community Health, and follow all SRCH policies and procedures.
- Other community and patient engagement and outreach activities, and duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or related field is required. Bachelor's or master's degree in public health, communications, sociology, or related area is preferred.
- Experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge and skills, typically two or more years' experience in a professional environment.
- Experience working with and managing communications or engagement efforts with diverse populations.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bilingual Spanish and English (speak, read, write) required.
- Commitment to the mission and vision of the Santa Rosa Community Health and a demonstrated ability to advance community health and civic engagement with patients, staff, and community.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and conversations, present information, respond to questions, and generally communicate clearly, respectfully, and productively, with patients, coworkers, grant and program partners, and community members.
- Ability to use social media for business and social change (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Highly organized, accurate, and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, including the ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and educational levels.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with confidential materials, including compliance with HIPAA policies.

While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:

- Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.
- Travel to other office and community locations and reliable form of transportation required.
- Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.
