Director, Strategy (Artificial Intelligence)
Please note this role is only available in Seattle, San Jose, or San Francisco and follows our flexible work model, which requires three in-office days a week.
The Director, Strategy (Artificial Intelligence) will own the creation and execution of Expedia Group's AI strategy. This role will lead strategic initiatives, collaborate across teams, and identify opportunities to apply AI for both traveler-facing innovation and internal productivity. The Director will ensure Expedia Group stays current on AI trends and will connect AI strategy across business domains to deliver measurable impact.
In this role, you will:
Develop and execute Expedia Group's AI strategy, balancing short-term and long-term priorities.
Collaborate with Product, Tech, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and Supply teams to align AI initiatives with business objectives.
Lead internal and external AI-related initiatives, including partnerships and productivity projects.
Monitor AI trends and emerging technologies; identify opportunities for Expedia Group to leverage them.
Enable domain experts by providing insights, fostering connectivity, and ensuring alignment across strategies.
Represent Expedia Group in AI-related discussions with partners and at industry events (travel required ~25%).
Experience & Qualifications:
Experience in strategy consulting work highly preferred.
10+ years relevant experience
Demonstrated experience in strategy and technology with experience applying AI in product and operational contexts.
Strong strategic and technical acumen; able to translate vision into actionable plans.
Highly proactive, collaborative, and able to operate independently with a high degree of ownership.
Forward-thinking and able to navigate frontier conversations on emerging technologies.
Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
