Pediatric Dietitian Job Details

• Job Title: Locum Tenens Pediatric Dietitian
• Employment Type: Travel contract (locum tenens)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Clinical Nutrition & Lactation Unit
• Location: Orange, California (Zip: 92868) – Southern California healthcare jobs
• Shift: Day shifts, 5x8-hour (08:00 - 16:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Contract Duration: 26 weeks (Start: 9/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1970 - $2020
• First-time travelers accepted!

Pediatric Dietitian Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a pediatric dietitian in a hospital or clinical setting
• Active National Registered Dietitian (RD) Certification (CDR)
• BLS certification required
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited university
• At least two advanced practice specialty certifications, or a graduate degree plus one advanced practice certification
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Two professional references (supervisor level or above)
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible

Pediatric Dietitian Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate, family-centered nutrition care for pediatric patients in a hospital setting
• Serve as a nutrition resource for medical, nursing, ancillary staff, and community healthcare providers
• Apply advanced pediatric nutrition and medical nutrition therapy for evidence-based patient care
• Conduct nutrition assessments, develop and reassess treatment plans, manage calorie counts, enteral and parenteral nutrition
• Educate patients, families, and staff on pediatric nutrition topics
• Participate in professional activities including lectures, publications, research, and healthcare organizations
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver optimal patient outcomes
