Job Description

Sagetap is looking for an experienced, curious, and collaborative full-stack developer to join our fully remote engineering team. As a technical member of an engineering- and innovation-first company, you will be empowered to discuss, design, and implement solutions throughout our platform from ideation all the way to production.

You should be interested in utilizing and advocating for good coding practices, writing code that is testable, observable, and maintainable. Ideally you have thoughts about how systems and code ought to be architected, what tools are best for the job, and how to best collaborate with others to achieve a common goal.

You will have the opportunity to learn and work with diverse technologies like Kotlin, Typescript, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, ElasticSearch, and Terraform to build an innovative and evolving product with a team of open and friendly engineers.

What You Will Do

• Write code in Kotlin, Typescript, React, and SQL to develop our product
• Communicate clearly with our business and product partners to better understand their requirements, and then help plan, scope, and execute upon them
• Be an advocate for best practices around testing, design, observability, etc. to maintain the long-term quality and stability of the platform
• Collaborate with, learn from, and teach others on the team about languages, tooling, techniques, etc.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering or relevant experience
• Proficiency in programming with Kotlin or similar backend languages (e.g. Java, C#)
• Proficiency in programming with Typescript and React or similar frontend technologies (e.g. Javascript, Angular, Vue)
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and confidence with core SQL
• Experience with git or other version control systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services preferred)
• Application architecture and design patterns, experience in building RESTful APIs
• An empathetic mindset (for our users and the rest of our team), the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, and a willingness and desire to learn
