Job Responsibilities:
The Licensed Welder supports quarry operations by performing welding and fabrication on crushers, conveyors, and other heavy equipment. Reporting to the Site Manager, the role ensures repairs meet safety standards and production needs. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, assisting with plant upgrades, and supporting inspections. The ideal candidate holds a valid welding certification, is skilled in MIG and Stick welding, and is comfortable working outdoors in industrial environments.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Weld according to weld details on the drawings
- Fabricate as instructed
- Maintain mechanical equipment in proper operating condition
- Repair and troubleshoot
- Preventative maintenance inspections on assigned equipment and complete accurate reports
- Removal and replacement of outdated and unused equipment as assigned
- Report any deficiencies to the supervisor
- Housekeeping duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Certified Welder (CWB)
- Ability to maintain a valid structural welding certificate
- Proficient in welding, cutting, and brazing various metals
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout drawings
- Experience working at heights and in confined spaces
- Strong troubleshooting and inspection skills
- Capable of operating mobile equipment related to welding tasks
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
