Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each full-time employee shall receive a reduction in pay in exchange for PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the reduction in pay. SEIU Bargaining units (1, 3, 4, 11, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21) will receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 per month.

The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting for one, Permanent, Full-time Analyst II position within the Division of Consumer Financial Protection's CRMLA Licensing Unit. This position is to be located in the Sacramento office. This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of these positions within the next 180 days.

The Analyst II performs a variety of journey-level analytical and regulatory duties supporting the Department’s licensing and oversight of California Residential Mortgage Lending Act (CRMLA) licensees. Under general direction, the incumbent independently reviews and processes licensing applications and amendments; researches and interprets laws, regulations, and policies; prepares clear and accurate correspondence, reports, and deficiency notices; responds to inquiries from applicants, licensees, the public, and internal staff; evaluates information received from internal and external sources to determine whether further review or action is warranted; maintains records and documentation in statewide systems; coordinates licensing matters with examiners, management, and other DFPI units; and provides administrative and program support to ensure consistent, timely, and compliant licensing operations.

Working Conditions

This job requires reporting on site, however, telework may be available once established.

Sacramento Location: The Sacramento office is in the new state-of-the-art May Lee State Office Complex in Sacramento's River District, conveniently located next to Light Rail. On site parking available for a fee .

CONFLICT OF INTEREST
This position is subject to Title 10, § 250.30 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s Conflict of Interest Regulations, the incumbent is required to submit a Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st and within 30 days of leaving office.

Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS INSTRUCTIONS
