Job Summary: We are searching for an energetic Medical Office Receptionist/Assistant to add to our team devoted to providing ophthalmologic patient care.

Principle Duties:

• Checking-in patients
• Scheduling patients
• Fielding phone calls
• Health insurance verification, prior authorizations, update and file medical records and insurance reports
• Maintain tracker for outcomes, calls, left messages, scheduled, cancellations, reschedules, and declines
• Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
• Having a welcoming, energized attitude with patients with excellent interpersonal and communicational skills
• Room patients, and check vision, put in eye drops, and input history into EMR

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have:

• 1-2 years experience as a medical receptionist or assistant
• A high school diploma or equivalent degree
• Fluency in Spanish
• Ability to interact and communicate well as a team and with others, in person or by telephone, including occasional difficult or frustrated customers or patients
• Ability to report to work with consistent attendance, prepared to work
• Attention to detail in their actions with the goal to provide the best care possible
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service orientation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizing and planning skills
• Knowledge of health insurances

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with electronic medical programs
• A great teacher, being able to teach patients as well as other team members

Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
