THE ROLE

As a Fullstack Engineer on the Core Product team at Baseten, you'll be building and maintaining the core Baseten web application, enabling users to deploy & get value from ML models as easily as possible. This role is primarily a front-end position, but there will be lots of opportunities to contribute to our core backend, our OSS projects, and other areas of the stack. This team is at the forefront of all new product development at the company. Some of the projects we have in the pipeline:

• Fine-tuning: Enabling customers to fine-tune large models on our platform

• Environments for deployments: Allow easy integration of model deployment with CI/CD workflows

• Websockets: Enabling low-latency inference scenarios

As a team, we believe great ideas can come from anyone, and encourage all team members to think critically, pay attention to how customers are using the product, and use those insights to drive new product ideas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement new features & products for the team

• Design abstractions in our frontend and across the codebase to drive higher developer velocity

• Fix bugs & resolve customer issues with urgency

• Work closely with the product and design teams to develop and drive new product ideas

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

• 1-3 years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure

• Proficient in using a modern frontend framework like React

• Familiarity with web application backends & databases

• Good taste in product, particularly developer-oriented tools

• Strong collaboration and communication skills
