Senior Accountant POST NUMBER: 442464
Vaco Orange County is a leading provider of accounting and finance consulting services. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Lake Forest, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Performing monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and allocations
- Update standard costs annually (or as needed) in collaboration with Engineering, Customer Service, and Production; validate standard costs, analyze manufacturing variances and job profitability, and recommend adjustments to enhance financial accuracy
- Supporting the consolidation process for multiple entities and intercompany transactions
- Maintain and reconcile metal inventory records and prepare monthly reports
- Prepare and assist in review of monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
- Maintaining and updating the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Manage quarterly forecast and annual budgeting process for G&A
- Prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
- Review portfolio financial statements; analyze and write variance comments for significant financial variances
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
- Assist with complex special projects, including preparing various analysis schedule & ad hoc requests
Job Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 5 years accounting experience in Manufacturing required
- CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience with Epicor preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel: writing formulas, pivot table, and power query (Preferred)
- Ability to work on a temp-to-permanent basis
