Provide nursing care and diabetes education. Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team. Blood Glucose Monitoring. Patient Support Provides emotional support to relieve anxiety level of pt/family. communicates effectively about pump starts, CGM placements. Facilitate letters for school/employment etc. Respond to families as educator of the day. Respond to In-basket messages Special Procedures/Unit Details : Apex knowledge/access. knowledge of diabetes management devices such as insulin pumps, glucometers, continuous glucose monitors (CGM}. Evaluates/documents patient's responses to nursing care, including pre/post pump starts and CGM placements. Insulin and influenza vaccine. Special Equipment : - #Tier2 Travel Compliance ALL TENTATIVE RTO MUST BE INCLUDED AT TIME OF SUBMITTAL- ADDITIONAL REQUESTS MID-CONTRACT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED RTO must be discussed and approved by the hiring manager at time of offer. If an Auto-Offer unit, RTO must be included and limited to 1-week total RTO. Anything over 7 days will require manager approval at time of offer. All RN positions require BSN Must have Prior Travel within 12 months Prior Teaching Hospital Experience preferred Float Policy: At any time during assignment, resources may be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility (within 75+ radius) if the resource satisfies the requisite Job Specifications. Please ensure this is discussion at time of submission, and time of offer. Travel Pairs: travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be on the same unit. Married couples may not work on the same unit. Employment History: ANY employment with any University of California medical facility and any of their acquired facilities MUST be included with employment history. Must provide dates worked, units worked, manager name/s upon submittal for a rehire eligibility check with HR. Modules: Modules are non-billable and included in NBO hours Modules can vary anywhere between 1- 24 hours depending on the unit/specialty/position.
