Job Description:
Our client, a global leader in the technology industry located in San Diego, is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to join their Corporate Accounting Practices and Reporting (AP&R) group. This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing SEC reporting, advising on complex technical accounting matters, and collaborating cross-functionally on high-impact projects. The ideal candidate has 12 years of technical accounting experience, a CPA, and a background in Big Four public accounting and/or a large public company.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee quarterly and annual SEC reporting.

• Provide technical accounting guidance on acquisitions, dispositions, and new transactions.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to address complex accounting issues.

• Collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive key business decisions.

• Supervise and mentor a team of technical accountants, ensuring their professional development.

• Work with external auditors to manage compliance and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• CPA certification required.

• 12 years of relevant experience, including Big Four and/or large public company experience.

• Strong technical accounting expertise with SEC reporting knowledge.

• Experience in the tech industry or related sectors (biotech, manufacturing preferred).

• Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.

• Proven ability to manage and mentor high-performing teams.
