POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an expert in wireless and wired networking solutions with current relevant certifications and senior level experience across multiple leading-edge networking and datacenter technologies in midsize and large enterprise environments.

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and integrating solutions, and providing ongoing support to Nth Generation's clients, using the best tools, techniques, and products in resolution of the clients' information technology issues. The individual in this position provides timely internal and client-facing documentation describing clients' challenges, proposed solutions, configurations to produce formal quotes, necessary diagrams, statements of work, project work status reports, and daily billable time entry when applicable, as well as on-site client consulting on projects from a Pre-Sales perspective covering the following disciplines:

• Assessment and design of Wireless Networks (primarily HPE Aruba, Juniper, Extreme Networks, Fortinet, Ruckus and Cisco wireless solution knowledge required).
• Network design across LAN/SDN and WAN/SDWAN solutions (including routers, core/edge switches, wireless networks and data centers).
• Network design encompassing Firewalls/VPN/SSL/Load Balancers setup for disaster recovery, remote offices and Cloud/Hybrid environments.
• Strong product knowledge of HPE Aruba, Juniper, Extreme Networks and Cisco.
• Perform predictive and active site survey using Ekahau.
• Use IRIS tool to help create BOMs for HPE Aruba, Juniper, Extreme Networks, Ruckus and Cisco.
• Use Cisco CCW for estimates/quotes.
• Other disciplines may be required based on market trends.

As a Senior Networking Solutions Architect, the incumbent is required to maintain technical competence in the various Nth Generation solutions offerings and to ensure an excellent customer experience in the delivery and implementation of cutting-edge technologies and has a broad base of knowledge and experience across multiple industries, products, and services. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily, while always maintaining the Nth Corporate Culture (see Appendix A ).

This position may require the individual to work at different times of the day, including nights and weekends, as needed, without prior notice. In this position, you will be expected to spend up to half or more of your time traveling to and from client sites or attending technical training sessions. This is a Salaried Exempt position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following:

Networking Pre-Sales Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expert support to Nth's Sales team in the role of a formal Solution Architect for the following Nth solution offerings:
  • Networking (HPE Aruba/Juniper, Extreme Networks, Fortinet, Arista, Silver Peak, VeloCloud stay competitive with Cisco, Ruckus, Palo Alto Networks, F5, and other leading Networking vendors as needed in the future).
  • Software Defined Networks and Data Center - strong knowledge on at least one of the following: Broadcom/VMware NSX, OpenStack, Red Hat and other future technologies as needed.
• Assess, design and architect Networking & Security (working with our Security specialists) strategy for client's move to Private, Hybrid, and Public Clouds.
• Perform Wi-Fi site surveys using tools such as Ekahau.
• Compiles comprehensive written reports directly related to customers' specific risk and business plans.
• Assist with any other Nth Networking solution demo's, POC's or short-duration services.
• Provide oral and written post-evaluation reports detailing discussions/conferences with clients to provide remediation suggestions and guidance.
• Complete any needed partner pre-sales certifications & shadowing engagements.

General Responsibilities:

• Drives to customer sites when needed and makes a concerted effort to be present at Nth offices, as needed, to build teamwork, collaboration and help grow the company. Any and all decisions to work from the home office must be made in collaboration with your manager.
• Able to work during Nth Generation's core hours of operation, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Flexible to work early and/or late, if there are requirements to be performed.
• Able to work night and/or weekend according to the customer's scheduling needs, in order to complete the requirements of the position.
• Carries mobile device and makes best effort to respond to calls and emails from the office, both during and after business hours.
• Keeps accurate records and notes regarding all client projects, including timekeeping, documentation, project plans, trip reports and status reports.
• Is willing to attend training and certification classes in and out of state, as needed.
• Provides own transportation and has a reliable vehicle, which is available at all times for immediate dispatch.
• Flexible with demands on time and is able to deal with frequent and last-minute scheduling changes.
• Performs work on special projects, as needed.
• As business and operational demands dictate, additional duties may be assigned and are expected to be performed.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• Attend 2 or more weeks of technical training per year, which may be out-of-town or out-of-state.
• Attend additional ongoing training to keep current knowledge base on products Nth supports.
• Maintain current certifications and remain up to date on certifications for new products or services, as directed by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree in Computer Engineering, or related field, and/or equivalent demonstrated IT industry training and/or work experience.
• Enterprise Infrastructure CCNP or CCIE a plus
• Additional security and/or wireless certifications a plus
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in solution design, implementation planning, and deployment of multi-vendor networking and firewall solutions within the VAR space.
• Knowledge of Multiple OS, Networks, Server, Storage, Virtualization, Automation and related Datacenter technologies.
• Demonstrated experience as a senior implementation lead on networking and firewall solutions with responsibilities that include planning, design, deployment/upgrade of enterprise core networks and data center networking in enterprise scale client environments.
• Experience developing project plans, Level of Effort estimates, deployment and test plans.
• Experience working directly with product vendors and designing/deploying multi-vendor solutions.

Strong knowledge, expertise and formal certifications on at least (3) or more of the following products (formal training will be made available for some or all of these products to help gain the needed knowledge and manufacturer certifications):

• Networking (such as HPE Aruba, Juniper, Extreme Networks, Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet)
• VMware SDN (NSX) and Hybrid Cloud solutions
• Firewall technologies, such as Palo Alto
• Load balancing technologies, such as F5
• Additional knowledge of other technologies is also desired.

Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
