Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 17 , and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3percent and will receive 5PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

This recruitment may be used to fill positions in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting.

Under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), the Infection Prevention and Control Registered Nurse (RN), CF is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention and control activities. The Infection Prevention and Control RN, CF organizes and provides necessary nursing care in accordance with health care policies and procedures, program requirements, and regulations. The Infection Prevention and Control RN, CF is responsible for addressing the ongoing health care needs of patients, working with physicians and other health care providers, and promoting the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.


Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a current license as Registered Nurse in California. (Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be admitted to the examination, but they must secure the required license before they will be considered eligible for appointment.)

Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting.

Tuberculosis (TB) testing is required for candidates new to CCHCS prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
