Are you looking for a fast-paced and challenging position that will provide you with extremely valuable Infrastructure cabling experience, extensive variety, and frequent exposure to managers and staff in the Information Technology Branch? The Employment Development Department (EDD) is looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to work in the Telecom Operations Group. The Information Technology Associate provides analytical and technical functions associated with telecommunications infrastructure cabling specifications, detailed scopes of work, contract administration, and vendor oversight.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The amount of telework is at the Department's discretion and is subject to change as business needs arise. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office on their assigned in-office days. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the employees' responsibility.

Working Conditions

Consist of occasionally walking to assess building cable infrastructure, bending/stooping to get under or over spaces. Intermittently sitting in front of computer/laptop.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Knowledge of 110 and 66 block copper termination in the IDF
• Knowledge of terminating at station end
• Knowledge of overhead support systems distance between supports
• Knowledge of reading a floor plan
• Knowledge of grounding
• Knowledge of the difference between the MPOE and IDF

Statement of Qualifications Requirements

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is Required . The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. The SOQ is not a resume or cover letter.
