Schedule: Monday-Friday, as needed based on service, events and operational requirements
Position Overview
The Manager oversees the daily execution, hospitality standards, and front-of-house operations for the ACRE Real School Lunch Program. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of strong leadership in front of house operations in the food and beverage or hospitality industry. This is not a role for some with strong administrative skills without the expertise in hospitality and FOH operations. Although we appreciate culinary expertise, the role requires front of house experience. The role requires consistent on-site presence for all service days, faculty meals, and school-related catering events. Availability is also required for administrative days outside the academic calendar, as scheduled. This role ensures absolute excellence in our from-scratch food quality, presentation, and service to the school community. The Manager provides strategic leadership to front-of-house staff, directly manages the service staff and acts as the primary on-site liaison between ACRE leadership, school administration and staff, and the parent community. The Manager will also coordinate closely with the Head Chef and culinary team to ensure seamless service flow, immaculate presentation, and continuous food replenishment for our lunch program and service.
Key Responsibilities
Service Execution and Culinary Coordination
- Coordinate daily lunch service directly with the Head Chef and back-of-house culinary staff to align on menu items, quantities, and timelines.
- Direct the front-of-house service staff to guarantee all food is kept continuously fresh, beautifully replenished, and expertly served throughout the entire lunch window.
- Accountable for the service flow and pacing of the lunch program across all internal stations and eating areas
- Oversee second location, working with Head Chef and ensuring identical standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and hospitality are maintained.
Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the service staff to ensure execution of daily lunch programs.
- Oversee HR coordination, including onboarding, performance documentation, and compliance with labor laws, timekeeping, and break policies.
- Collaborate with ACRE leadership team to manage scheduling, staffing adjustments, and operational workflows.
- Foster an inclusive, professional, and high-energy culture across the front-of-house team.
- Serve as the primary on-site voice for school administration, faculty, and community members
- Respond to parent and community inquiries with polished, professional, and solutions-oriented communication
Community Engagement and Communication
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison with school administration, faculty, and staff
- Respond promptly and professionally to parent and community inquiries, concerns, and feedback
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive dining experience
- Collaborate with the School Liaison, Chef, and Operations Manager on daily logistics and service needs
Food Quality and Safety
- Ensure all food preparation and service meet ACRE quality and safety standards
- Coordinate allergy protocols in partnership with the Chef and School Liaison
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment in compliance with company and health regulations
Catering and Events
- Direct the execution of all school-related catering and special events
- Manage incoming catering inquiries, logistics planning, and financial or operational follow-through
- Schedule Service Team representative to be present during special events to guarantee flawless hospitality
Administrative Operations
- Review and analyze weekly operational reports, service checklists, and performance metrics
- Manage daily staffing requirements, including shift scheduling and adjustments based on service needs.
- Attend ongoing leadership and Chef meetings to review upcoming menus, operational needs, and client feedback
- Coordinate kitchen openings and closures during seasonal school breaks and transition periods
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3–5+ years of progressive LEADERSHIP in high-volume catering, luxury hospitality, or restaurant space
- 3- 5+ years in food service or hospitality leadership and team management skills
- Basic, functional knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) and professional email communication.
- Highly polished interpersonal skills; ability to engage a diverse community
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
- Commitment to professionalism, hospitality, and high-quality service standards
- ServSafe Manager certification (or local equivalent) required
Other Requirements:

Compensation, Benefits and Schedule:
- Salary starting at $75-$78K, depending on experience
- Full time for 10-10 1/2 months during the school year (mid-August through mid-July)
- All school days 7:00am - 3:00pm (Monday-Friday)
