Lead Construction Superintendent
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Construction Superintendent to oversee the field operations of a large-scale, ground-up concrete structure project (approximately 300,000 square feet) in San Diego from inception to completion. This is a key leadership role for a hands-on construction professional with strong expertise in structural concrete, sequencing, and field coordination.
This pivotal role demands a proactive leader who can manage multiple teams, ensure safety compliance, and deliver projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management with 10+ years experience, excellent supervisory skills, and proficiency with industry-standard software tools.

About the Project:
- Large-scale reinforced concrete structure.
- Multi-phase construction.
- Direct-to-owner contracting model (Owner-Builder structure).
- High standards for quality, safety, and schedule performance.
Duties:
- Lead daily on-site construction operations.
- Coordinate all subcontractors and trade partners.
- Manage concrete sequencing, formwork, rebar, and structural pours.
- Enforce safety standards (OSHA / Cal-OSHA compliance).
- Conduct daily site meetings and inspections.
- Ensure adherence to project schedule.
- Maintain quality control and resolve field issues proactively.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager and Project Engineer.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience.
- Proven experience supervising large reinforced concrete structures (100,000+ SF preferred).
- Strong knowledge of structural sequencing and logistics.
- In-depth understanding of OSHA safety standards and implementing comprehensive safety programs on-site.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Local experience in Southern California, San Diego area preferred.
- Broad knowledge of subcontractors and skilled workers in the area.
Preferences:
- Experience in owner-developed projects.
- Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software.
- Strong references from prior large-scale projects.
