Adjunct Faculty Position – Computed Tomography Adjunct Instructor

Position Overview:
NHTI provides a learning environment that prepares students for the healthcare field. We promote personal growth and critical thinking, to meet the workforce needs of NH.

The department of healthcare professions is seeking qualified part-time computed tomography instructors for future semesters, beginning fall 2026. The ideal candidate will join the department having a desire and ability to serve students. Course topics available include Imaging and AI, CT Procedures I and II, Cross-Sectional Anatomy & Pathology, CT Registry Review and clinical assessment. Courses are designed in an 8-week format, online and in the evenings. Allowing flexibility of the instructor to teach synchronous or asynchronously.

Candidates will deliver course materials through Canvas online learning format that aligns with the ASRT curriculum for computed tomography. This involves developing and updating courses are taught consistent with ARRT standards. Responsible for managing course work through timely grading of assignments and providing student feedback for areas of improvement.

Course Description:
CT Procedures I: This course provides the student with the information necessary to enter into the computed tomography clinical setting. Topics include: basic principles, screening procedures, patient monitoring, dose, safety, contrast and their contraindications, equipment use, professional roles, routine exams and protocols utilized.

CT Procedures II: This course builds upon CAT203 and introduces Cardiac CT procedures, interventional procedures, and radiation therapy simulation procedures are discussed to include pediatric and bariatric procedures.

Cross Sectional Anatomy and Pathology: This course provides the student with fundamental anatomy and pathology associated with computed tomography. Diseases, pathologies and their appearances will be reviewed. The various structures will be demonstrated and sectional anatomy to include nomenclature used to describe anatomy and body locations.

Imaging and AI: This course provides the student with a comprehensive study of the physics associated with computed tomography. Topics will include: scanner components, digital imaging and imaging steps, radiation protection, and helical applications. Artificial intelligence is discussed, with the terminology defined and its applications in medical imaging outlined.

CT Registry Review: In this course the student will prepare to take the national certification examination through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Various topics will be addressed each week with a practice registry exam given to complete the program.

CT Clinic I: The clinical experience is an extension of the classroom where the student will develop the theory into practical skills through instruction, application, critique, and evaluation on common procedures.

CT Clinic II: The clinical experience is an extension of the classroom where the student will develop the theory into practical skills through instruction, application, critique, and evaluation on common procedures. In Computed Tomography clinic II the student will build upon knowledge gained I in CAT 204 Computed tomography Clinic I.

CT Clinic III: The clinical experience is an extension of the classroom where the student will develop the theory into practical skills through instruction, application, critique, and evaluation on common procedures. Building upon knowledge gained in Computed Tomography I and Computed Tomography II, completing all required exams per the ARRT.

Meets students at the posted class times and teach assigned courses using effective instructional strategies that promote student learning and preparation for real world experiences.

Follows College protocols and procedures.

Submit syllabi, midterm and final grade reports and other reports pertaining to assigned courses by due dates.

Stays current with developments in the profession.

Is timely in communicating.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in radiologic technology or higher, ARRT Certification in both radiologic technology and Advanced certification Computed Tomography
  • Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of recent work in CT or relevant combination of work experience prior teaching experience and Canvas use preferred.
  • Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.
