About the role
In this role for One Legal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how litigation-focused legal professionals interact with our platform every day. You’ll lead the charge in crafting intuitive, accessible, and elegant front-end experiences that make complex legal workflows simple.
This role is a unique blend of product management expertise and hands-on user experience leadership. You’ll collaborate closely with front-end engineers, designers, and customers to guide the design and functionality of our web-based products, from discovery through delivery. You’ll conduct user research, create wireframes and prototypes, and ensure our platform consistently delivers a market-leading experience tailored to the needs of legal professionals.
A working knowledge of the civil litigation process, especially in California state courts, is highly beneficial, helping you anticipate user needs and deliver solutions that are both innovative and practical.
This is a hybrid role, based 3 days a week out of our office in San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct user research and stay current on legal industry trends to inform product decisions
- Act as product owner in an Agile environment, leading sprints and prioritizing UX improvements
- Translate insights into clear requirements and collaborate with engineers on implementation
- Create wireframes and prototypes in Figma; lead usability testing to validate designs
- Define and track UX metrics; use data and feedback to drive continuous improvement
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform aligns with legal workflows and user needs
- 6+ years of product management experience in B2B software, preferably legal tech
- Strongly preferred: background in the legal industry (e.g., paralegal, legal ops, legal tech PM)
- Proficient in Agile (Scrum, JIRA)
- Skilled in wireframing, prototyping, and UX design for complex web apps
- Solid grasp of modern UX principles and front-end technologies (React, HTML/CSS – no coding required)
- Experienced in partnering with engineers to implement user-friendly designs
- Strong communicator with the ability to translate technical and legal needs into intuitive experiences
- Data-driven, with a track record of using metrics to guide UX and product decisions
Compensation
The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Base salary is not the only component of our competitive total rewards package - you may also be eligible for bonus, commissions, equity, and other benefits as described below. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications.
$108,000 - $183,000 base salary and a $15,000 yearly bonus
