Program Coordinator - ACMS
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The ACMS Program Coordinator will be tasked with supporting the middle school program delivery, as well as leading specialized programs. As a support to the site manager and program staff, the coordinator will organize daily schedules, ensure staff are ready to provide safe and fun activities, and ensure that high quality programs are being delivered on a daily basis.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Leadership
Establish Club programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates the achievement of impactful programming.
Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring positive relationships are maintained.
Supports staff members ability to deliver high quality programs through program development and delivery support.
Strategic Planning
Review program offerings with YDP’s and Site Manager on a quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily basis ensuring staff members have organized objectives, goals, and outcomes for programs and activities.
Resource Management
Assist in the creation of budgets for specialized programs, as well as daily activities.
Ensure adequate space is available for programs and activities being delivered on a daily basis.
Support Youth Development Professionals with program evaluation, and provide feedback through daily and weekly communication.
Partnership Development
Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders, partners, and organizations.
Marketing and Public Relations
Support in the recruitment of club members, enrollment in programs through development of supportive marketing materials and communication to club members and parents.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purchase supplies and equipment
Work with staff to carry out programs in all departments.
Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
May oversee special programs or events (i.e. Family Nights & Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other club activities as necessary.
Required to drive the club van. This requires adhering to the BGCNLT Drug Testing Policy.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club members and staff (professional and volunteer) to ensure delivery of scheduled programs. Maintain regular contact with parents and members as needed.
External:
Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, member's parents and others to assist in promotion of programs, and club information.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of two years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
Program evaluation skills.
Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to move freely about the club environment to supervise and monitor activities of staff and members, maintaining a safe environment for all.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Regularly required to use hands and fingers, feel, talk and hear.
May be required to walk, sit or stand for long periods of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
