Tax Compliance Representative (TCR)
Job Description and Duties
THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

Under the supervision of a Tax Administrator I, the Tax Compliance Representative, (TCR) in the Tax Processing and Accounting Division's (TPAD), Account Services Group (ASG) within the Account Management Section, the TCR performs duties of average difficulty in the establishment and maintenance of employer accounts and financial records.
These duties include the more sensitive tax cases and status determinations involving in-depth account analysis and the transfer of payments and reports between accounts; complex Vertical Unity of Enterprise determinations; and referrals to the Rate Management Group for reserve account transfers and to the Field Audit and Compliance Division to assess for possible rate manipulation schemes. As proficiency increases, the TCR provides training for new and less-experienced staff, acts in a lead capacity for training, and provides technical assistance to staff on complex work items. In addition, the TCR reviews the work of staff in training and provides feedback to the employee and supervisor.

These positions are headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
