Operations Manager
THE COMPANY
Our client is an innovative manufacturer specializing in high-end architectural and design-focused products. And they are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead daily production and continuous improvement activities at their Sonoma facility. With about 60 employees, the company values creativity, precision, and teamwork in delivering premium solutions to its customers. THE POSITION
The ideal candidate will supervise and manage activities related to proactive operations & production planning for all manufacturing processes and departments.
- Leading the development, analysis, and revision of operations & production plans.
- Coordinating closely with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements to achieve all company KPI’s.
- Estimating costs and preparing budgets.
- Organizing workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
- Monitoring operations & production to quickly resolve issues.
- Supervising and evaluating the performance of operations & production personnel, including supervisors.
- Determining the amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.) to accomplish company goals.
- Evaluating maintenance work, purchasing of equipment, etc.
- Ensuring all quality standards are met for every order.
- Ensuring health and safety precautions are followed consistently and completely.
- Providing timely, consistent, and accurate reports and updates to Operations management team.
- Closely monitoring and reporting any critical shortages, teaming up with purchasing and warehouse functions to avoid shutting down operations lines.
- Monitoring daily operations reports and following up on variances to plan, fully understanding root causes and establishing corrective actions.
- Monitoring On-Time Delivery on a daily and weekly basis per committed shipping dates, taking necessary actions to achieve OTD targets.
- Analyzing operations specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools and human resource needs.
THE CANDIDATE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or operations/production management preferred.
- 5 years+ experience as an operations and/or production manager or equivalent in a manufacturing environment.
- Deep knowledge of operations and production management best practices and methodologies.
- Lean manufacturing background (5S, problem solving, Visual management, Kaizen, Standard work) with prior hands-on leadership of Lean transformation and sustainability.
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
- Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
- Results-oriented and experience reporting on key operations and production metrics.
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP software.
- Outstanding communication, organizational, analytical and leaderships skills.
- Attention to detail, sense of urgency, and strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent team player with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
