About the Role
Are you looking to expand your career in accounting? Do you have a solid grasp on fundamental accounting principles, including journal entries, month-end closing processes, and bank reconciliations? As a Junior Accountant, this vital role assists in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial records, supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Title: Junior Accountant
Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Onsite with one day telecommuting
Salary Range: $71,000 - $79,000 DOE
(Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and business needs, in compliance with California pay transparency requirements.)
Responsibilities:
Maintain the general ledger by posting and reviewing financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
Support the month-end closing process by preparing and posting journal entries.
Assist senior accountants with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks, including processing invoices and payments.
Reconcile credit card statements and organize supporting receipts, ensuring all expenses are accurate and properly documented.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Provide support for audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed.
Participate in special accounting projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned per business needs.
Collaborate with senior accountants to review and resolve any discrepancies.
Ensure that all transactions comply with the company's financial policies and procedures.
Assist with other accounting projects as deemed necessary.
Provide administrative support to the accounting/finance department, as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required
Proficiency in GAAP principles.
Proficiency in Excel.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
1-2 years of accounting/related field experience required.
