Position Summary
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is responsible for reviewing and conducting patient assessment tools (ASAM, PHQ-9, BAM), determining appropriate levels of care for patients engaged in co-occurring treatment, and providing clinical support to substance use disorder (SUD) counseling staff. This may include case review, care coordination, and crisis intervention with patients.
Essential Responsibilities
+ Complete American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessments or review assessments completed by SUD Counselors to determine appropriate level of care for co-occurring patients.
+ Document medical necessity and appropriate diagnosis determination and support transfer of patient care as needed.
+ Provide individual counseling for higher-level need patients engaged in treatment.
+ Provide behavioral emergency assistance such as de-escalation or basic first aid when needed and report homicidal or suicidal behaviors.
+ Adhere to mandated reporting requirements.
+ Assist in patient safety plans or referrals for crisis treatment as appropriate.
+ Actively participate in staff meetings and huddles providing important patient information.
+ Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients enrolled in programs.
+ Maintain patient case files with documentation of client progress and updates.
+ Provide appropriate referral information to clients and the public for services and opportunities not provided by the agency.
+ Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation within established timelines.
+ Maintain confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of the job.
+ Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and support adherence to accreditation standards.
+ Identify issues/emergencies appropriately and problem-solve for resolution with site leadership.
+ Navigate multiple electronic health record systems.
+ Promote a physically and emotionally safe environment.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
+ Master's degree in Social Work with current, unencumbered California LCSW license.
+ Two years' experience providing clinical services in the behavioral health field.
+ One year experience working with individuals facing substance use challenges or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaboratively in a team setting.
+ Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, and Excel.
+ Familiarity with Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, Client-Centered Theory, Relapse Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-or willingness to learn.
+ Commitment to serving underserved and diverse populations.
+ Adherence to HIPAA confidentiality rules and professional ethics; must comply with 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
+ Crisis Intervention training or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
+ Valid CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule; bilingual preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $111000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
