Assistant Bookkeeper

Supports Account Managers in the Business Management department by performing day-to-day bookkeeping functions with attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness. This role can be performed in office, hybrid or remotely.

Essential Functions

• Assists Account Manager by performing day-to-day bookkeeping functions for clients. This person will primarily input information for accounts payable and accounts receivable, assist in preparing check runs utilizing different software packages, but mostly AgilLink.
• Prepares journal entries.
• Performs bank reconciliations and traces discrepancies.
• General communication with vendors
• Assists with clients’ payroll
• Assists with Month-end and Quarter-end duties, including compilation of financials, sales tax and payroll tax returns
• Assists in the preparation of 1099s and W-2s for clients
• Assists Account Manager with special projects

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Understanding of the fundamental principles of accounting and bookkeeping
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Problem-solving skills in dealing with deadlines
• Experience with AgilLink is a plus, but good computer learning skills required
• Able to work some overtime December through April

Qualifications

• High School diploma required
• One plus years of bookkeeping experience preferred
• One plus years of experience in AgilLink and/or QuickBooks preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

$24 - $26 an hour

This is a non-exempt position and is therefore eligible for overtime at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
