Delivery Driver

About the Position: The Delivery Driver is a compliance-critical, front-line role responsible for the safe, lawful, and timely transportation of cannabis products to approved destinations. This position operates within a highly regulated environment and requires strict adherence to company policies, safety standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements.Delivery Drivers are entrusted with maintaining product security, chain-of-custody integrity, and accurate documentation throughout each delivery route. While drivers may perform routes independently, all work is conducted in accordance with established procedures, assigned schedules, and supervisory oversight.
As a visible representative of Garden of Eden, Delivery Drivers are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, discretion, and accountability in all customer, team, and public interactions.
Primary Responsibilities:- Safely operate assigned company vehicles in compliance with company standards and applicable local, state, and federal requirements
- Complete timely and accurate delivery of retail products to approved destinations in accordance with assigned routes and delivery schedules
- Ensure all products are properly packaged, secured, and transported to maintain product integrity, security, and chain-of-custody requirements
- Adhere strictly to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and delivery protocols at all times
- Verify delivery information, customer identification, and required authorizations prior to completing each delivery
- Accurately complete delivery manifests, logs, and required documentation for each route
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling customer information, cannabis products, and company assets
- Follow all safety practices, including defensive driving standards and vehicle safety requirements
- Immediately report incidents, accidents, delays, discrepancies, or compliance concerns in accordance with company policy
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, and delivery team members to support smooth and compliant operations
- Participate in required training, compliance reviews, and policy updates as assigned
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This role is performed in an active, field-based delivery environment with varying conditions
- The position requires the ability to sit for extended periods while driving and to enter and exit vehicles frequently during a scheduled shift
- Occasional lifting of packages or materials weighing up to approximately 25 pounds may be required
- Regular use of mobile devices, GPS navigation tools, and delivery management systems is required
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the role.
Requirements:
Possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license
Maintain an acceptable driving record consistent with company and insurance requirements
Ability to pass background and driving record checks as required by law and company policy
Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, GPS, and navigation applications
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and reliability
Strong time-management skills with the ability to follow schedules and prioritize tasks
High school diploma or equivalent required, 21+ years old
Nice-to-Haves
Prior experience in delivery, transportation, or courier roles
Experience working in regulated retail environments
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems or delivery management platforms
Cash-handling experience
Compensation & Benefits
$17.00 per hour plus an equal share of pooled tips distributed daily
Most drivers earn between $25–$26 per hour in total compensation, including hourly pay and pooled tips (actual earnings may vary based on shift volume and schedule)
