Group Art Supervisor

Santa Monica, CA

Join a creative team that’s doing work that truly matters.

At GSW, we believe in bringing humanity, empathy, and clarity to healthcare communications so patients, caregivers, and providers can make more informed decisions. As a Group Art Supervisor, you’ll be part of a team that creates world‑class visual experiences rooted in purpose: simplifying complex science, shaping compelling brand stories, and elevating creativity in a space where ideas can change and save lives. If you’re passionate about impactful design and want to guide creative talent while influencing meaningful brands in healthcare, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all creative work is consistent with brand guidelines, strategic direction, and overall project objectives.
  • Remain actively engaged in guiding, developing, and elevating the broader creative team.
  • Partner closely with Strategy to support research, brand positioning, messaging development, and strategic alignment.
  • Lead the development of manifesto video scripts and oversee execution from concept through final delivery.
  • Work across multiple accounts, establishing creative vision, standards, and cohesion across brands.

Requirements:

  • Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to translate complex medical and scientific concepts into clear, engaging visual ideas.
  • Advanced design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across all visual components.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional partners such as copywriters, account teams, experience designers/technologists, and strategists.
  • Deep understanding of diverse target audiences to create visuals that resonate and communicate effectively.
  • Solid foundational medical knowledge to ensure accuracy and alignment with healthcare industry standards.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA requirements) to ensure compliant visual communication.
  • Adaptability to evolving medical, regulatory, and creative landscapes—including comfort with AI‑assisted design tools.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate and sell creative ideas to internal teams and clients.
  • Excellent work‑management and critical‑thinking skills, including delegation, work review, and the ability to motivate teams to deliver high‑quality creative output.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience at a pharmaceutical/healthcare advertising agency.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual ability across integrated campaigns, visual storytelling, and innovative healthcare‑focused design.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or Related Field:
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, advertising design, or a related field is typically expected. We also consider candidates with degrees in fine arts or other creative disciplines, particularly if supplemented with relevant experience.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $145,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.

At GSW, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. If your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. At times, we will consider transferable skills from previous roles. We also encourage you to join our Talent Network to stay connected to additional career opportunities.
