Cost Accountant

Based in Orange, VA, this position reports to the Plant Controller and is responsible for accumulating, interpreting and reporting manufacturing costs. Assists in the monthly close process and participates in the preparation of manufacturing financial forecasts and budgets. Plays a key role in the annual product costing exercise. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Assist with the monthly closing process (cost of sales and inventory related journal entries, accruals for plant expenses, allocations, and related reporting requirements).
• Investigate monthly plant variances, reviewing actual vs forecasted expenditures.
• Assist in preparing and analyzing cost reports and budgets
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Provide regular reporting and detailed analysis of plant efficiency data.
• Assist with internal audit and reconciliation of the plant's annual physical inventory.
• Assist in the implementation of financial systems, policies, and procedures as required.
• Other special projects as assigned.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or related field
• Experience with ERP software (JDE preferred)
• High level of integrity and accountability with results-orientation and a strong ability for prioritization
• Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting systems, inventory control systems, and experience managing accounting procedures and controls

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Master's Degree/MBA
• 2 or more years of working experience in financial accounting/cost accounting in a manufacturing setting
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (Manufacturing and Financials)
