About the role:
Samsara is looking for a highly motivated Manager, Workplace Operations interested in getting involved in a high-growth IoT tech company to support our headquarters in San Francisco. We are looking for a strategic thinker with experience in managing office services (catering, snacks, janitorial, etc.) in a growing environment. Demonstrated experience in facilities and customer service is required.
The ideal candidate prides themselves on their quality of work and relationship‑building skills. Experience managing an office with a robust offering of internal events and high‑profile external guests are must‑have to be successful in the role. Diligent follow‑up, attention to detail, and an ability to develop and execute best practices that align with our culture will be a big asset. We’re looking for a problem solver who believes no task is too big (or too small!), finds solutions, and is thoughtful in translating Samsara’s values to the workplace.This role reports to the Director, Workplace Operations AMER, and will be a people manager role and provide mentorship to the front desk and office coordinators.
This is an in‑office position requiring 5 days per week. This is open to candidates based within 30 miles of our San Francisco Office.

In this role, you will:
- Manage a team of coordinators and develop their professional growth; provide mentorship and guidance on best practices in vendor management, office services, employee experience, etc.
- Onsite daily to oversee day‑to‑day workplace services and vendor management including catering, snacks, janitorial, office repairs, event coordination, moves add and changes, etc.
- Manage overall office budget, from opening POs to ensuring invoices are approved and paid in time while making recommendations for cost savings when applicable.
- Act as liaison between building management and the Workplace team and serve as the Emergency afterhours contract for building related maters
- Identify and build out business‑required processes that make the employee experience more smooth and comfortable such as workflows to improve and drive successful events and communication campaigns to drive office attendance and visibility into Workplace lead employee events
- Partner internally and externally with teams across the organization to support and facilitate events, onboarding, moves, etc.
- Work with the Director to support pilot office spin ups across the AMERs delivering white glove service to their satellite offices.
- Ad‑hoc workplace capital projects as needed.

- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of 3+ years of office management or workplace experience
- 1+ years of people management experience
- Experience working with vendors
- Experience in a tech startup environment is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Google Suite,Zendesk, Slack, Jira, Zip, and Gemini.
- Ability to organize, multi‑task, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to be resourceful, proactive, and self‑sufficient in issues that may arise.
- Must be able to be onsite 5 days a week in our San Francisco Office
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and move around small office furniture if needed.
