JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Mail Courier who is equal parts courier manager, record keeper and customer service specialist. This team member is expected to train in all areas of Office operations, inclusive of support core operational duties and support projects including events, work order tickets and more. You will use specialized scanners for scanning, sorting, and delivering important documents and letters. You are also responsible for packing and shrink-wrapping packages. Your duties are time-sensitive, so we need someone who can work quickly and efficiently throughout their entire shift. You also need data entry skills to log and track the mail. In addition, you will support cross-functional projects and collaborate with various teams on a regular basis. Flexible hours may be needed, with core work during regular business hours.

Most importantly, the right person for this role is someone who can navigate successfully between the big and small components of their work and is ready and willing to roll up their sleeves to do what’s needed to get the job done.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload cargo.

• Pickup and deliver important/confidential packages between the various Bay Area Square offices, and individual employee addresses.

• Assist the mailroom with basic shipping and receiving processes in between courier duties.

• Report safety occurrences.

• Prepare and keep accurate transportation logs, vehicle fuel consumption logs, and other data as needed.

• Assist in moving and setting up materials, equipment, and furniture, as proper to the position's requirements.

• Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules.

• Abide by all transportation laws and regulations and maintain a safe driving record.

• Maintain chain of custody to/from post office, company offices and employee working locations, including homes, for all deliveries.

• Delivery of mail, files, documents, packages, Hardware devices and other business-related needs within the Block specified radius.

• Complete the tracking log by recording accountable mail pieces picked up at the post office.

• Develop and manage process for courier delivery including but not limited to:

  • Utilize delivery tracking software such as OnFleet for route optimization and recipient confirmation.

  • Complete the tracking log by recording accountable mail pieces picked up at the post office.

  • Upon delivery of accountable mail to the post office, keep national postal services’ customer receipts that disclose the official titles Delivery Confirmation, Certified, Signature Required, and Insured mail; deliver customer receipts to the Block-sender on the next business day.

Postage and P.O. Boxes:

• Replenish postage meters as needed.

• Manage the P.O. boxes to include pick-up and drop-off locations as Block requires.

• Distribute inter-office envelopes and packages to offices and individual employee locations.

• Maintain and regularly update campus mail-route maps showing mail stop locations color-coded by route and delivery times per building.

• Maintain postal equipment, including but not limited to the following:

  • Postage machines and meter scales

  • Material handling equipment

Skills & Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license issued by the state where you work and a clean driving record.

• Ability to ensure confidentiality when handling documents relating to sensitive company, legal, and employee information.

• Ability to be punctual and meet delivery deadlines.
