General Job Description Overview:

The Business Intelligence Partner serves as a vital extension of the Vice President, Asset Protection & Security, leveraging strong business acumen and enterprise performance insights to support informed decision-making across the organization. This role translates enterprise data and operational information into clear, actionable insights, executive dashboards, and strategic briefings that support company-wide initiatives related to shrink mitigation, operational performance, and business effectiveness. Working in close collaboration with cross-functional departments and enterprise reporting resources, this position focuses on interpreting data, developing executive-level visualizations, and providing leadership with clear visibility into operational performance, business trends, and strategic project execution. The Business Intelligence Partner helps ensure leadership maintains situational awareness of key initiatives by communicating business insights, project progress, and performance outcomes in a clear and structured format. The position requires the ability to influence senior leaders through clear insight development, concise data storytelling, and effective use of modern visualization tools. The successful candidate will manage competing priorities with precision and deliver executive-ready dashboards, project performance updates, and presentations that uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop performance insight frameworks to improve shrink metrics and operational performance indicators across the business.
  • Conduct comprehensive business and environmental assessments, incorporating economic trends, competitive insights, and market conditions to inform long-term planning initiatives.
  • Design and maintain executive-level dashboards using enterprise data visualization platforms to present complex information, including operational and project performance updates, in compelling and actionable formats.
  • Perform ROI and business impact evaluations for process improvements and technology investments.
  • Review reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment.
  • Partner with operational and functional leaders to interpret and synthesize enterprise data across systems, including inventory platforms and finance systems, to produce holistic business insights.
  • Conduct ad-hoc business reviews and insights to address emerging issues, risks, or strategic questions.
  • Use compelling visual dashboards and presentations to connect business insights and project performance updates to decisions, tradeoffs, and recommended actions.
  • Develop multimedia content such as executive briefings, strategic communications, and training materials in collaboration with the LMS team.
  • Present strategic insights to C-suite executives and senior leadership with clarity, confidence, and composure.
  • Represent the Vice President, Asset Protection & Security in select meetings and forums as delegated.
  • Translate complex business insights and performance findings into clear, persuasive insights through executive summaries, white papers, and strategic briefs that support informed leadership decision-making.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging technologies, tools, and business performance platforms.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technology vendors, integrators, and partners to support analytic and reporting functions.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to reduce shrink and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain awareness of industry innovations, emerging threats, and best practices.
  • Lead company-level projects from concept through execution, providing visibility into project progress, milestones, and performance, while ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Create project plans, define resource requirements, and establish risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate teams across operations, finance, IT, HR, and legal to advance strategic objectives while monitoring and communicating project progress and performance to leadership.
  • Partner with operational leadership to design and implement robust shrink reduction and loss prevention strategies.
  • Review shrink patterns, theft incidents, and operational risks to identify root causes and recommend interventions.
  • Collaborate with internal or external investigators, law enforcement, and legal teams on sensitive matters when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Vice President, Asset Protection & Security, handling sensitive matters with absolute discretion.
  • Prepare briefing packets, agendas, and follow-up materials for leadership and Board-level meetings.
  • Manage communication flow between the executive office and internal/external stakeholders with professionalism and timeliness.
  • Proactively anticipate leadership needs and act as an effective extension of executive support, including calendar management, coordination of meetings, travel arrangements, and preparation of high-quality correspondence.
  • Partner with regional and functional leaders to support company-wide operational and strategic goals.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, leadership discussions, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on operational excellence and performance insights.
  • Support change management efforts and guide teams through process improvements and organizational transitions.
  • Cultivate strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Support the development and implementation of programs, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend updates to protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Contributes to annual strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation efforts.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to maintain compliance and competitiveness.
  • Support all current and future corporate initiatives and programs.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with proven ability to support and influence senior leadership.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Risk Management, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in business analysis, operational performance reporting, or strategic operations.
  • 2–3 years working directly with C-suite or senior executive leadership.
  • Proven expertise in business performance insights, executive reporting, and strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to deliver executive-level presentations.
  • Strong background in project management for complex, company-wide initiatives.
  • Ability to obtain required security clearances.


Technical Skills:

  • Advanced visualization and business reporting capabilities; proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Excel with familiarity interpreting enterprise data sources.
  • Expert-level Excel skills (advanced formulas, DAX, Power Query, dashboards).
  • Strong PowerPoint and graphic design abilities.

Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a Monday - Friday; 8-5pm position requiring flexibility to work various schedules including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
  • Must be available for urgent matters, crisis situations, and executive requests outside of norm and standard business hours. Occasional overnight travel for business or training.
  • Periodic work in operational environments such as stores and distribution centers.


Physical Demands:

  • This position requires the ability to perform work for extended periods while seated and/or standing for extended periods, as business needs dictate and using a computer and standard office equipment. Occasional travel may be required, up to approximately 15%. This role may involve occasional light lifting of supplies or materials. The ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, priorities, and requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment is required.
