Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator II (Supervisor), the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) (AA I) is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing the operations and activities of the Accounts Payable - Vouchers and Travel Unit in the Accounting Office. The incumbent ensures all payments are made in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Control Agencies’ guidelines and rules as set forth in the State Administrative Manual (SAM), and further defined by the State Controller’s Office (SCO), Department of Personnel Administration regulations and procedures, and Financial Systems of California (FI$Cal), which aids in managing the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) financial commitments.You will find additional information about the job in the .

Hybrid positions may be eligible for telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. - Knowledge and experience with State accounting principles, methods, and procedures, including generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls.
- Strong leadership qualities, team-building skills, and the ability to facilitate decision-making and action.
- Experience in Microsoft Office skills (Pivot Tables)
- Proven commitment to creating a work environment that celebrates diverse backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences.
- Proficiency in using the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal), CalATERS Global System and Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments efficiently and in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to independently prioritize and manage workloads under critical timelines or competing deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in researching, writing, proofreading, editing, and interpreting both technical and non-technical documents.
- Strong organizational, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to draw sound conclusions and adopt effective courses of action, maintaining a positive, creative, and flexible approach to issues and problems while working collaboratively with control agencies and other stakeholders.
