The Role
We are looking to hire a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. With a focus on Accounts Payable, General Ledger, NetSuite reporting, and month-end close responsibilities, this position is designed for an individual who has a broad understanding of the business and its accounting function. The Staff Accountant should have a strong foundation in accounting and finance, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be a self-starter.
What you’ll do:
- Support the monthly close process in NetSuite, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate classification of transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Prepare and analyze NetSuite reports to support month-end close, management reporting, and ad-hoc analysis
- Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice entry, payment processing, and vendor management
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and key balance sheet accounts
- Support inventory and cost accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations and variance analysis
- Assist with sales tax setup, monitoring, and reporting across multiple states
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits and tax filings
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations and Merchandising to support accounting needs
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and system efficiencies within NetSuite
- Document accounting procedures and support internal controls
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and reporting as needed
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; CPA a plus
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
- Hands-on experience using NetSuite for general ledger management, reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience with journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and depreciation
- Strong understanding of order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes within an ERP environment
- Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting, including reconciliations
- Ability to prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations independently
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and working with large data sets
- Experience exporting, analyzing, and validating data from NetSuite
- Exposure to internal controls, audit support, and process documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
- Apparel or ecommerce industry experience a plus
- Experience with Netsuite, Shopify, Ramp and other integrated systems a plus
