Comal Next Door is a growing group of traditional Mexican taquerias with locations in Berkeley and Oakland. Comal opened in Downtown Berkeley in 2012. A few years later, when our next door neighbor Phil’s Sliders decided to close up shop, we jumped at the chance to open an all-day taqueria – a sidekick to the original mothership. We are hiring for both Oakland (Grand Lake) and Berkeley.

We welcome experienced candidates as well as those who want to learn and already have a genuine sense of hospitality.

We have a great opportunity for a Cashier Supervisor. The Cashier Supervisor works in collaboration with the Manager and kitchen staff to provide exceptional guest service, order accuracy, consistent and proper daily prep while maintaining a safe and clean workspace. Must have the ability to obtain a CA Food Handler, RBS and Unlawful Harassment training certificates.

Cashier Supervisor is generally offered as a part-time job but might turn into full-time.

Prior experience as an hourly Supervisor or other FOH restaurant jobs are highly beneficial to success at this job.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Cashier Lead Requirements:

* Genuine sense of hospitality, provides exemplary customer service
* Create and maintain a positive work environment for all cashiers
* Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, resolve any issues
* Accurate counts of inventory and cash drawers
* Be able to open and close the store in an organized timely manner
* Troubleshoot POS, Delivery Apps or internal internet issues
* Basic Knowledge of Bar Operations
* Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
* Genuine sense of hospitality, provides exemplary customer service
* Ability to read and write in English
* Ability to use critical thinking and maintain an even temperament under pressure

Prior experience as an hourly Supervisor or other FOH restaurant jobs are highly beneficial to success at this job. Bartending experience is a plus!
