Founding Product Manager
Rockstar is recruiting for a pioneering enterprise accounting automation company. The client is eliminating the pain of enterprise accounting through powerful integrations, intuitive design, and AI-driven automation. By consolidating processes into a single, easy-to-use platform and automating repetitive tasks, they free accounting teams to focus on strategic, high-impact work—achieving more with fewer resources.
The team is led by top engineers and finance professionals from companies like Robinhood, Bolt, EY, Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Amazon, Google, Airbnb, Rubrik, and more. Together, they are using extensive industry experience to transform the way businesses manage their finances.
The company is backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, having raised the largest seed round in its category with support from top-tier VCs such as Kleiner Perkins, Redpoint Ventures and Audacious Ventures. This funding has allowed for the launch of a fully operational product and the onboarding of several major customers.
Your Role:
As the Founding Product Manager, you will be the owner of the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for specific modules and capabilities. You will work closely with the founders, engineering, and GTM teams to define the future of enterprise accounting automation. This is a high-impact, hands-on role perfect for a visionary who thrives in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment and wants to build a product from the ground up.
- Define and Drive Product Strategy: Own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Identify market opportunities, define winning product features, and articulate the long-term vision to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Deep Customer and Market Understanding: Conduct extensive customer interviews, analyze market trends, and synthesize insights to uncover pain points and unmet needs within enterprise accounting. Validate product-market fit through rapid iteration.
- Be embedded in the deployment team: Work very closely with the deployment team to see what is working and what is not. Be plugged into customer meetings, understand what they are looking for in the product, survey customers and build a case for how to improve different capabilities the company has.
- Execution and Delivery: Write clear product specifications. Collaborate closely with the engineering team to manage the sprint process, prioritize backlog, and ensure timely, high-quality feature delivery.
- Go-to-Market Collaboration: Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop compelling positioning, messaging, and sales enablement materials. Participate in key customer meetings to gather feedback and support deal cycles.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Define key product metrics and use data to monitor product performance, measure feature success, and inform future roadmap decisions.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the central hub for all product-related activities, ensuring alignment across engineering, design, sales, customer success, and finance.
Your Qualifications:
- 2+ years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, FinTech, or Enterprise software. Experience with AI/ML products is a strong plus.
- Proven track record of defining, launching, and scaling successful software products from 0 to 1.
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written). Must be comfortable and effective presenting complex technical and business concepts to customers, executives, and engineering teams.
- Deep Domain Empathy: Experience or strong foundational knowledge in accounting, finance, or ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Highly analytical and comfortable using data tools to inform product decisions.
- Proactive, highly motivated, and able to thrive in the high intensity and fast pace of a startup environment.
- Bachelor’s degree; technical background (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) is a plus.
