• Location: University Hospital, Madison, WI 53792
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Surgical Technologist
• Specialty: CVOR Tech – Transplant, Cardiac, Trauma
• Healthcare Setting: Operating Room – Multi-specialty (Liver/Kidney Transplant, Cardiac, Trauma)
• Shifts: Day/Eve, 12-hour shifts (06:30 – 19:00)
• Schedule Options: Friday-Sunday, Thursday-Saturday, or Saturday-Monday
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Contract Length: 17 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Orientation: 1 week
• Parking: Permit required; alternative transportation available
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2130 - $2190

Qualifications – Surgical Technologist Jobs in Wisconsin

• Minimum 2 years of scrub tech experience in a high-acuity hospital (Level I or similar)
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or 2 years of direct experience as a surgical tech
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Proven experience with trauma cases and complex surgeries
• Pass a telemetry exam prior to start (strict pass/fail)
• Ability to float between units as needed
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from Madison, WI
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Responsibilities – CVOR Surgical Technologist

• Prepare operating rooms for multi-specialty surgeries, including liver/kidney transplant and cardiac procedures
• Assist surgeons during complex operations and ensure patient safety throughout perioperative care
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies
• Float to multiple units and adapt to dynamic staffing needs
• Demonstrate proficiency with advanced surgical equipment (Da Vinci Surgical System, ECMO, cell saver, etc.)
• Provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Participate in required pass/fail testing and maintain telemetry competency
