Under supervision of the Supervisor I for the Examination Unit within the Human Resources Office, the Personnel Technician I (PT I) performs technical personnel tasks in support of recruitment efforts undertaken by Divisions and programs throughout the DIR. The PT I will provide assistance to the C&P team by creating and maintaining job postings; ordering, coding, and clearing of certification lists; and releasing job applications to hiring managers utilizing the Exam and Online Cert System (ECOS). Working Conditions

The incumbent works in an air conditioned, high-rise office building with natural and artificial lighting. The incumbent works in a cubicle in close proximity to others.
We offer a hybrid work schedule that is consistent with our department’s telework policy.

The incumbent must exercise a high degree of initiative, discretion/confidentiality, independence, reliability, accuracy, dependability, good judgment, and flexibility in performing a wide variety of duties. The incumbent must possess good work habits; adjust to changing priorities; pay attention to detail; and, work well under pressure. Must possess outstanding customer service skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, and conflict management skills. Must have the ability to: Interpret written material; edit written material; write effectively; analyze written and numerical data accurately, follow oral and written instructions; and make clear and concise communication expression and oral presentations, written reports, and correspondence.

Preference will be given to persons with State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) or Surplus status. Applicants must attach a copy of their most recently dated letter that specifies their designation as either SROA or surplus candidate as proof.
