Data Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

Amazon Customer Service - D2AS (Devices, Digital and Alexa Support) is looking for an experienced, self-driven Data Engineer. In this role, you will be navigating one of the world's largest and most complex data environments. You should be passionate about working with disparate datasets and be someone who loves to bring data together to answer business questions. You should have deep expertise in the creation and management of datasets, and the proven ability to translate the data into meaningful insights through collaboration with business analysts, business intelligence engineers, and research scientists. The D2AS vision is to create innovative support experiences for customers of Amazon’s devices and digital products, through intelligent self-service solutions and a world class tech support organization. To empower data driven decisions on behalf of our customers, we currently run analytics out of multiple Redshift clusters, leverage AWS Elastic Map Reduce for feature engineering and offline batch modeling, and integrate with hundreds of real-time sources across Amazon to drive personalized customer service. Key job responsibilities- Work closely with data scientists and business intelligence engineers to create robust data architectures and pipelines.
- Simplify and enhance the accessibility, clarity, and usability of large or complex datasets through the development of advanced BI dashboards and applications.
- Take ownership of the design, creation, and upkeep of metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to inform key business decisions.
- Navigate ambiguous environments by evaluating various options using both data-driven insights and business expertise.
- Develop and manage scalable, automated, and fault-tolerant data solutions using cutting-edge technologies such as Spark, EMR, Python, Redshift, Glue, and S3. A day in the life

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of data engineering experience- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
- Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., AWS QuickSight or Tableau) or open-source project
- Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree
