JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Alameda, CA.

As the Animal Care Technician I , you will provide the highest animal welfare standards and care, in addition to maintaining vivarium cleanliness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure high standards of animal welfare are met.
• Provide food, water and clean housing to animals according to applicable SOPs.
• Perform routine animal health observations.
• Monitor temperature and humidity, reporting any issues to supervisor or manager.
• Receive, unpack, and house animals according to SOP and Animal Receiving Form
• Understand proper room entry order and adhere to biosafety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records organize supply areas.
• Maintain vivarium cleanliness and waste removal in accordance with applicable SOPs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician I position.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 0-6 months directly related laboratory animal experience in a laboratory animal facility.
• This position requires you to travel to other locations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science in either Animal Science or Life Sciences.
• AALAS Certification at the ALAT level.

The pay range for this position is $23-25 USD per hour . Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, skills, certifications, and location.
