Product Security Engineer (New Grad) (San Francisco)
About the role
We are looking to welcome an earlycareer security enthusiast to our team someone with a builder mindset, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for learning who is excited to deliver on both planned projects and unplanned tasks with guidance and mentorship.
In this role, you will be part of a hands-on security team focused on designing and implementing security solutions solving challenges across Chime. You will review technical designs and dive into security findings surfaced by our researchers and penetration testers, addressing them promptly while expanding your skills.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $112,140 and up to $155,800. Fulltime employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Partner with senior engineers to enhance the security posture of our growing software teams
- Develop assistive automation and workflows (Python, Go, or your language of choice) to streamline the detection and reporting of security findings
- Contribute to innovative solutions that automate patching/rebuilding of live production systems toward a nearzerovulnerability state
- Contribute to tracking and remediation of discovered security vulnerabilities, continuously expanding your security knowledge
- Be on the forefront of security AI software
To thrive in this role, you have
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Ruby) and enthusiasm for automation and tooling development
- Understanding of some of the popular public cloud computing providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- A creative thinker and self-starter with a passion for Chimes mission and our members.
- Flexibility and enjoy doing whatever it takes to execute on complex projects.
- A low ego but high empathy, and are comfortable working well with a wide range of stakeholders.
