Maintenance Worker

Job Description and Duties

Maintain the cleanliness of the grounds; remove debris from sidewalks, parking lot, bushes, and fencing. Ensure plants are properly watered and monitor sprinkler systems for proper water usage. Trim plants, trees, and bushes as appropriate. Wash windows inside and out, clean window shades and light fixtures when needed. Operate scrubbers, buffers, waxers, blowers, vacuums and other equipment and machinery as required. Replace worn and burned-out light bulbs and tubes when necessary, and repair minor plumbing/facility problems (i.e., gaskets leaks, sprinkler issues, doorknob/keying/closer issues). Assist Automotive Technician II by performing routine tasks related to tire chain installation, tire maintenance, and minor motor vehicle maintenance/cleaning. Inspect, remove, rotate, mount, and balance tires. Drive motor vehicles to service stations and garages for necessary maintenance. Repair and clean vehicle interiors/exteriors. Assist Custodian, as necessary, including cleans and waxes floors; vacuums carpets; cleans, dusts, and polishes furniture; empties and cleans waste receptacles, hallways, restrooms, office, and lobbies; refills lavatory supply dispensers.

Working Conditions

May work in high temperatures outside during summer months and low temperatures during winter months.
