Analyst I / Analyst II
Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the analyst is responsible for assisting in the coordination of the administrative uniformed hiring process for the Department within the Uniformed Hiring Section, Uniformed Transfers/Promotions Services (UTS) unit. The analyst is responsible for providing consultation and assistance to management and commands in the interpretation and application of state civil service laws, rules, regulations, bargaining unit agreements, and related departmental policies and procedures to ensure departmental compliance. The analyst handles varied and complex tasks in the areas of uniformed hiring and related human resource management functions; assists with establishing and reviewing both policy and procedures under UTS purview; and ensures all appointments are within all laws, rules, and regulations. The analyst must have the ability to operate word processing systems and Communications Network message software; follow oral and written directions; evaluate situations accurately and take effective action in accordance with laws, rules, and departmental policies and procedures; provide information to uniformed personnel; and maintain the confidentiality of records.
